OnePrayer 2009

May 8, 2009

One of the things that I hate about churches is that we never can work together.  I used to go to a monthly lunch for youth pastors in the area.  Going in I thought this was gonna be pretty awesome.  A bunch of youth pastors from the same area collaborating and working together and sharing ideas, right?  Well that’s not what happened.  It was more of a we do things this way and your event will be better if you do it our way.  I quit going.  It wasn’t worth it.

Anyway, back to the point.  I just never have understood why as churches we can’t work together and toward to same goal.  That’s what we are ultimately doing anyway!  So what if some churches like drums and some don’t.  Some places are happy to have the tambourine lady!  That’s the good thing about denominations.  So last year LifeChurch.tv did something awesome.  They created a series they call OnePrayer.  Last year’s theme was the question “What would you pray if God would answer One Prayer for the Church at large?”  It was pretty amazing!  Churches from all over the world joined together to pray as one!  1,894 churches!  That’s insane!  But to top that off the attendance for all these churches was over 2 million!  So awesome.  God did some crazy stuff through that.

Well, One Prayer 2009 is coming up in June.  I can’t wait to see what the Lord will do through it this year and how many churches across the world will be a part!  There are already 1,145 churches registered!  This year’s theme is “God is______”.  Last year One Prayer broadcasted messages from Jentezen Franklin, Ed Young, Perry Noble and Craig Groeschel.  I promise it will be worth checking out and signing up your church for!  Please look into it!  It will be amazing.

One Prayer 2009

What if the Church could be the answer to Jesus’ prayer?  In John 17 Jesus prayed that the disciples would be one.  What if that was true for us now?  How would the world be changed if we were one?
