5 Weeks Of Craziness!

September 30, 2008

So we have now had 5 weeks of this madness we call college football!  It’s been rather odd several times.  Teams we all thought had very little chance of losing when we started out have failed miserably.  Teams that weren’t supposed to be that good are now climbing the charts!  Crazy I tell ya!  So here are the new polls and my take as well!

AP Top 10
1. Oklahoma
2. Alabama
3. LSU
4. Missouri
5. Texas
6. Penn State
7. Texas Tech
8. Brigham Young
9. USC
10.  South Florida

USA Today Top 10
1. Oklahoma
2. LSU
3. Missouri
4. Alabama
5. Texas
6. Penn State
7. Brigham Young
8. Texas Tech
9. USC
10. Georgia

As for me, I would like to say congrats to the SEC and Big 12 for not sucking so far.  We have barely even gotten to conference play and big teams are dropping like flies (because apparently flies drop).  Let’s all take a moment and welcome the OSU Cowboys to the Top 25!  It’s been a little while and we want to make them feel welcome…that is until they meet OU (’cause then I don’t want them to feel welcome anymore)!  Also, just a warning, I really have a problem putting 1 loss teams ahead of undefeated teams that are truly holding their own, but sometimes it just happens.

Fun week for Big 12 fans…. I think Mo and USC will finish higher than where they are now. At least Mo higher than 5th. And OU will have to have a better run game to win it all. I’d like to see 4-5 Big 12 teams finish in the top 10 as long as OU is above Tx.

Once again…I dont see a team in your top 10 that belongs there! 🙂

I still want to see if BYU is legit against a top tier opponent!

I like the USA Today poll better and think it is more of an accurate reflection of reality. And besides…it actually counts in the BCS so it is more significant. AP seems to give Alabama just a little too much credit, though I don’t question them as a top 10 team.

Alabama to much credit? Wow, I would have ranked them number 1, in fact the only reason they aren’t number 1 is because no one saw them coming in the “preseason” poll which a joke in itself. Seriously if it weren’t for those, they’d be number 1! They have actually played real teams and beat them handly, unlike most of the Top 10, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Texas Tech, Penn State, BYU…They have all played cupcake games some worse than others. And OU fans don’t give me “we played #24 TCU”, please that’s a joke!
